CATHOLIC PRAYERS (Orações Católicas em Inglês)

Amados, 

Eu sou uma amante da Língua Inglesa. Fiz alguns cursos, me formei e quero me aperfeiçoar ainda mais nessa língua tão bonita e universal. Apesar de não ser uma língua derivada do Latim, fiquei bastante curiosa em aprender as orações cotidianas em Inglês! Por isso vim partilhar com vocês!

Ressalto que o Inglês não pode ser traduzido ao "pé-da-letra", mas se observarem, as expressões têm a mesma conotação da oração em Português.

Espero que gostem e que, além de aprender mais vocabulário de Inglês, se aproximem mais da vivência da Oração!

THE LORD'S PRAYER / THE OUR FATHER PRAYER (A Oração do Pai Nosso)

Our Father who art in heaven

Hallowed be thy name

The Kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

On earth as is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

Amen.

THE HAIL MARY (A Ave Maria)

Hail Mary, full of grace

The Lord is with thee

Blessed art thou among women

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus!

Holy Mary, mother of God

Pray for us sinners

Now and at the hour of our death

Blessed - abençoado; bendito; bem-aventurado

Full - cheio

Grace - graça

Hail - Saudar (no caso, Ave)

Holy - santo; sagrado

Sinners - pecadores

Thee - contigo

Womb - útero; ventre

GLORY OF THE FATHER (Glória ao Pai)

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

ANGEL OF GOD (Anjo do Senhor)

Angel of God,

My guardian dear,

THE APOSTLES CREED (O Credo)

I believe in God, the Father/Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, 

His only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power os the Holy Spirit,

And born of the Virgin Mary,

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified, died, and was buried;

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again;

He ascended into heaven,

He is seated at the right hand od the Father, 

He will come again

To judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Catholic CHurch,

The communion of Saints,

The forgiveness of sins,

The ressurrection of the body,

And the life everlasting.
